RD Guard™ is Rammer®’s remote monitoring solution designed for reliable performance in demanding job site conditions.
As the successor to the RD3 Monitoring Device, RD Guard™ provides accurate equipment data through a robust, compact and retrofit-ready design. Collected data is made easily accessible through the SAM® digital assistant.
RD Guard™ enables continuous monitoring of operating hours, location and service intervals, supporting better visibility, smarter service planning and more efficient fleet management. With built-in GPS tracking and performance data, it gives operators and fleet managers remote control and insight across the entire fleet.

RD Guard™ is built to endure in every environment. Its robust, slim protective casing is engineered for harsh job site conditions, shielding the technology from the elements and heavy impact. With a 3+ year battery life it delivers reliable data shift after shift, whether mounted as standard equipment or retrofitted to existing machines.
Work time tracking is recorded in five-minute activity intervals to ensure accurate usage data over time.
Supporting proactive service and maintenance
RD Guard™ continuously collects and shares data to support predictive maintenance, smarter service planning and faster issue detection. A built-in LED indicator allows quick visual checks of device status quickly. RD Guard™ empowers you to act in advance – keeping your equipment running and your operations on track.

RD Guard™ seamlessly replaces RD3 units across the Rammer fleet, offering compatibility with Rammer hammers today and flexibility for future equipment applications. The solution is software-updatable, with new features introduced over time.
Geofencing and movement monitoring
RD Guard™ continues to offer geofencing functionality, helping secure your equipment by tracking units that move outside defined perimeter. RD Guard’s improved theft alarm will be introduced in a future update, providing immediate alerts if movement is detected outside of defined working hours. It’s an extra layer of security that protects both your productivity and your peace of mind.
During the ongoing transition period, Rammer® equipment may be delivered with either an RD3 Monitoring Device or the upgraded RD Guard™, depending on model and availability.
RD Guard™ and SAM by Sandvik
RD Guard™ and SAM® work together to connect your equipment with clear, actionable insight. RD Guard™ collects operating data from the equipment and transfers it to the SAM platform, where the information is made available through a web browser and the SAM App.
Together, they provide visibility into equipment condition, usage and service-related information — supporting informed decisions, proactive maintenance planning and better fleet control across sites and applications.
